March 15, 2009 In the early morning hours of March 15, 2009, unidentified individuals spray-painted slogans and threats on the walls of several Bahá'í homes in the city of Semnan
Some of these slogans were, “death to Bahá'ís”, “Bahá'í, get lost!”, and “Bahá'í = Israeli infidel”. The hardliner elements sprayed the above threats on the homes of Ali Ehsani, Noush Azar Khanjani, Hajir Hedayati, Ezatollah Vojdani, Behrouz Firouzian, Nejatollah Khanjan, Behfar Khanjani, Behnaz Khanjani, Siavash Jaberi, and Shahnaz Pirasteh. Upon discovery of these slogans, the citizens of Semnan promptly informed law enforcement. However, the officials have not released any statement or course of action regarding legal ramifications of these acts or their prevention in the future. It is noteworthy that Semnan is among one of the cities in Iran in which many Bahá'ís have been summarily arrested, and their homes were subjected to homemade explosives in the past few months. .
